So everyone keeps asking me how I can say, "Emily walks but she won't walk" and take myself seriously. So tonight right before she went to bed, I got out the video camera to show you what she does when we practice walking.
If you watch the video, you will see how good she is. BUT she has never ventured out to walk on her own and she won't even try one step if someone isn't standing there...that is, until I went to turn the camera off and then you will see her take a couple of steps and fall...this may be the first time she ventured out on her own and I caught it on camera!! Well, the end of it. :)
I have been told many times that walking is a very high order skill and not to expect her to walk until she was 18mo adjusted...at the earliest and probably not until she was two. She is on the verge of exceeding expectations one more time! I am SO proud of her! Now stop telling me I am contradicting myself. :) It's not walking in my book until she does it without someone there. For those who count this stuff, she has been doing it for, well, what seems like forever. She was doing two or three steps over a month ago...this long stuff started a week or two ago. Have a great day and as always, God Bless!!

Interesting Day
So I had an interesting day and was recounting this to my brother-in-law when I decided it was funny enough to share.
"I got hit in the face by a crazy bum today!! Not kidding. Please let that sink in. Just read and try to picture me getting clocked by a crazy bum.
Here is the story in full: I was out jogging, minding my own business when I started to catch up to a person on the sidewalk going in the same direction as me. As I looked at the person, I realized I could not tell if it was a boy or girl and that he, she...it looked a little like, well, a crazy bum as well. So, I gave it a wide berth as I knew it could see my shadow and and I didn't want to spook it. I headed to the left. It wandered to the left. So, I jumped to the right and just as I got to it, BAM, both arms came straight out and one of them hit me right in the jaw. "What the...ouch!!!" that was the extent of my intelligent thinking so I turned around and said, "What was that?" in my not so nice, more of a reprimand than a question voice. And the it gave me a little evil grin, started to do a gangster strut and looked down. "Oh my!" I thought and as my shock turned to cautious fear, I turned around to run just a little faster...away.
Do you know how hard it is to keep running after you have been hit in the face??? Good thing I just have a little bit of a soar jaw as I am not entirely sure how I would have processed a serious injury from a bum!"
This after I spent the morning in my first attempt at canning. Yes, you read that right, I went canning with a new friend (the wife of M's partner). Now I have enough supplies to get me through when 'the big one' hits us. :)
God Bless!!

Long Time
Sorry we took so long to keep you in the loop, but the short of it is that God has worked nothing short of what I consider more miracles for Emily. A couple weeks ago, K and I got colds that Em never got and then M got that nasty flu and none of us got sick. God is protecting Emily in amazing ways right now.
I must be pretty dense since God decided He needed to continue to teach me that I have NO control over ANYTHING. Remember how when the fall started, I stayed at home and kept the girls away from anyone with runny noses or anything? Remember how we all got really sick for over a month and Em got mild pneumonia? Yeah.
Since Christmas, we have been out and about and around all kinds of sick people. I have begun going to Bible study and church again and even do my errands and grocery shopping with the girls rather than waiting for M to be up and getting it done while he is here. It is very freeing and my entire perspective on life is much more positive...and Em still hasn't gotten sick. God is in control, when will I ever just rest in that? Well, I am right now. I am not even scared of her getting sick because I know if she does, it was because God planned it.
Anyway, thank you for all your prayers once again!!
This pic is mostly just for my family...they went together to get K a bed set of a girlie monkey and since they all live far away and it was ordered online, they never got to see it, so here it is. Thanks so much, it is adorable and she loves it!!
This is just funny. They are playing 'Ring Around the Rosie' with Em's teacher. K loves it but hates falling down and Em just laughs through it all. According to my professional opinion, Em is exactly a 9 month old...well, at least the same nine month old that K was. I have been updating K's baby book and as I read all the nine month stuff, I felt like I was reading about Em. So developmentally, 9 months.
God Bless!!
