Easter

What a wonderful Easter! We had two celebrations of Christ's resurrection. The first was with our neighbors who hold a celebration every year the day before. We went down to join them. I am a little jealous of the level of development he has done.

He has developed three ponds in his backyard that house and nest everything from geese to turtles to hummingbirds.  It is wonderful.  Unfortunately, because of the drought the levels in his ponds are the lowest he has ever seen for this time of year.  See the tire in the middle of the air in the middle of the pond?

It's a geese nest.  :-)

Find the turtle. Emily couldn't until I chased it into the water.

Ever seen a hummingbird sitting still?  Here you have it.

On Easter Day we had a hunt at our house.  It was so much fun and I hope it is something we can make an annual event.  We had some 20 kids and who knows how many adult.  It was raining on and off (PRAISE GOD!). But in the middle of a break in the showers, we hid the eggs and sent the kids out.

This was how I imagined my kids growing up, surrounded by nature and friends.

We had to come inside to open eggs...I hope it happens at the pool next year...

...since it was chaos!!  ;-)

Then we used the resurrection eggs to tell the resurrection story.

Next year I want to make two changes - hide the eggs all over the ranch instead of just up by the house and no rain!  God is good!  All the time!
