Christmas Take 2

This weekend was Christmas at the Erickson's, down at Nana and Poppy's place. So this puts the cousins together at an age where they actually look at the camera and smile...well, for the most part. :-)

Reading the story before the presents...

So, for those who don't know, this is M's oldest brother and his wife.

Wiating for Poppy to give the word that the next present could be opened.

Em is still the kid who can have unopened presents sitting around her and she feels the need to stop and play with the first present she has opened.  :-)

The boys got some pretty neat transformers...this was a poster Uncle Jared made.

Once a year, we get to go to Knotts Berry Farm for free and so we decided to all go together.

At least the right one is flying!

We went to lots of shows.  The girls are at an age where they actually like watching performances and this makes parks so much more interesting!  I know Em doesn't look like she is having fun but she is watching the show directly below her.

The most well-done show was definitely "Snoopy On-Ice"...and ice skating show.  It took K all of ten minutes to ask me if we could try ice skating.

This is going to crack me up for the rest of my life...look at J's face!  Ha ha!  And the best part?  K loves to hug him, all the time.

K's one meltdown - when she didn't get into the pink hat.

After that, we went for some food, I mean sugar.  Amazingly, they found a second wind.  Yes, that is a funnel cake topped with fruit and a massive pile of ice cream.

We did a lot of waiting for shows, and lines, and food, and well, everything.  I was really pleased with how they girls did, easily their best so far.

I am kind of shocked.  I have never seen this many pics of me in any post, ever.

The Wild West show was very funny and very entertaining, but the gun shots were a bit on the loud side.

My birthday is New Year's Eve and Jamie's is the second, so we always celebrate together.  We opted out of another cake and used some of the mass quantities of sweets we already had to create a cake.

The trick was blowing out only my candle.

Well, I hope you have a wonderful new year!!!  God Bless!

Last Weekend

So remember last weekend, when K got baptized, and I said it was a crazy weekend, well, here was the rest of it...

We went to the Braille Institute for their Christmas.  They had it set up so cute with little stations all over the place.  There were games and prizes and even Santa.  This Santa was blind so it was an interesting experience for the girls.  :-)

The music station.

K was thrilled about this pic!

Book reading.  We traveled in small groups so I actually got to know a couple of other moms.  It was nice.

And Em finally started opening up.

And then there was Dad's work party.

K was in the back and Em was looking up her background information on the computer.

This year, the girls decided they wanted to be cheetahs.

Yes, K finally grew again...six weeks ago, at Em's birthday, they were only an inch apart in height.

Santa came in a firetruck escorted by a cruiser.

I told them to look at Daddy with mad face...Em can't stay serious for a microsecond.

They were so cute waiting for their presents...it took forever!  Even I got impatient.  There were a lot of kids there and the girls ended up as the very last presents under the tree.  But they were so patient, I had no choice but to be proud of them.

They do fit better than that, I just wasn't about to jam them on their heads with all that face paint about to transfer onto the hat.

And then they yanked them down so they could pretend to be monkeys...

It was so cute, I guess Em told Santa she wanted a Robin Hood toy and so when she got the monkey hat, she was totally disappointed and started to cry.  She kept telling me that she told Santa what she wanted but he didn't give it to her.  We had a little talk about Santa, but she still doesn't believe me.

Merry Christmas!
