Easter, Cousins, and Second Counsins

Well, we headed south for the winter, or just spring break. To begin the story of the this week, however, we must mention that my eldest managed to start a fever not half an hour after we got through the line at the airport. She, however, slept through the flight and took a nap and woke up the next morning, fever gone and none the worse for the wear. Relieved, I chalked it up to kids and their strangeness and didn't give it a second thought.

And Easter was great!!

The very first thing Em wanted to do upon arriving at Nana and Poppy Erickson's house was to ride the tractor.

And, since this one wasn't supposed to run quite like this, here is proof she does.

My beautiful girls!

Before church, the kids got to go through several stations of "Rise Up with Jesus", all of which explained some aspect of the path of Jesus through Holy Week.

K took this picture of me with my rainbow glasses on.

This was my favorite station - walking blindfolded into the 'tomb' - with the smells and feels of the real thing.

Rolling the stone through the obstacle course.

And now, for the face of concentration....

When they were all done, the pieces they had collected along the way made a puzzle.

When the cousins showed up, it got wild and crazy and became 'Rise up with the Erickson's!'

The photo bomber is their second cousin.

After church, it is all play! Rambette!!!

This is going to be my new all-time favorite picture - Em is not following the rules!!! My goofball and my serious little mini-daddy - getting ready to race. Maybe we should not race?!?

Getting ready for the egg hunt.

This was the best - Auntie K is telling them that they are 'super hot, boiling hot' as far as being close to the egg (see it in the top of the pole).

And they could NOT find it!!

It was a great time! Well, until that afternoon, when K got suddenly tired and her fever came back. Weird? Yeah, wait til you hear the rest of the vacation!
