Well, as we have been in Hawaii for a week now, I thought it time to send some pictures out! :-)
On our first day, my brother took me out to learn to surf.
On the second day, the Dads left for the Na'pali Coast to hike the Kalalalau trail to the beach. So, left alone, Auntie MoMo and I took the kids to the - wait for it - beach! Emily has always been too scared to swim in the ocean so we decided to take them to a beach with very small waves and get her past the "breakers" so he could swim. But, first we took the kids to ice cream before the beach.
K was pretty excited to be perfectly fearless.
Em was still not happy...
SO, on day two, K learned how to "surf" - she has decided boogie boarding is surfing.
She said this is her favorite picture because she looks like Astrid (How to Train Your Dragon).
The boys have reached the age where they play sports everywhere they go.
Finally, Em decided that she was going to be brave...with a life vest on...and then there was no stopping her. She ran through the waves, swam, then ran back out.
And then she just kept running and running.
On day three we took the kids to the Discovery Museum.
This airplane was super duper cool! It actually took off, flew to another island, and landed - all while the screen changed to look just like it.
There were even screens in the windows.
Landing on the Big Island.
A few hours in Mo and I were dying of boredom. Why do they make the parents pay when we don't get to play? Plus, once your kids reach a certain age, they play on their own and there is even less to do. So, we started making our own fun.
Well, there are lots more hikes and beaches to come! Finally starting to relax and have fun. God Bless!!
