The purpose of this post is to get a response from everyone who has been following Emily's story. Please skip to the paragraph that starts with
"Anyway" if you don't want to read the rest.
Have you seen our baby Einstein? This morning after a wonderful night of sleep.
YEARBOOK - Emily Grace is 10 months old today!!
I am sitting here in the early hours of the morning with Emily Grace in my lap, writing a post anticipating her first birthday. Can you believe it? I have to say I have believed for a long time now that this day would come, I just couldn’t picture it. As I was worshiping in church this week, I just kept thinking, “Emily is CRAWLING…MY Emily CRAWLING!!” And then I would tear up and praise God in Heaven for his mercy and grace. He didn’t have to heal Emily. He didn’t have to let us bring her home and He didn’t have to keep her out of a wheel chair and off oxygen…but He did. She is not all the way better but as my cousin says, “I believe I am already healed, although I’m still in the wheelchair. Some healings come immediately, but most take time.” My cousin broke his back in a snowboarding crash over a year ago and has been paralyzed from the waist down ever since. He has begun praying through the healing verses in the Bible, saturating his mind in the Word and going to ‘Healing Rooms’ where he gets prayer for his health and he is starting to walk! His testimony is amazing, if you ever want to know more, let me know and I can link you through FB to him.
Anyway, I want you all to help me with Emily’s birthday gift. I am calling it her ‘Yearbook’…yes, literally because she is one year old, but also like the cheesy kind you get in high school. What I want to do is get little notes from as many people as I can who have been praying for her as she struggled through this year. They can be short and sweet and seem silly to you (like “We’ve been praying for you ever since we heard of your birth”). Make sure you sign it and tell where you are from. Or they can be longer (like, “I have been praying for you. Specifically, I prayed for (fill in the blank)”. Sign it, and put where you are from. Fine, you can write a whole book if you want to. Just remember, these are notes TO Emily. When she is 10, 20, 30 and has her own kids, I want her to be able to crack this open, remember what God has done for her and someday, look at her children and think, “Man, all these people prayed me to life and now look at the legacy they are leaving…my children can thank God for all these people some day.”
I know this sounds like a hard task to think of what to say, but I can think of lots of things people have told me that I would love to put in there…”Every day, my son/daughter would tell me, ‘Mom, we have to pray for baby Emily’. We prayed for you every day because of that and we are so glad you are doing so well!” Or, “I have prayed for you for SO long. Day after day you were on my heart. I think especially during (fill in the blank…your eye problems or heart surgery), that really hit me because (fill in the blank…my nephew had to have surgery when he was a baby), so I never forgot to pray for you.”
You can send it to me by email and I will write it out (bec dot erickson at yahoo dot com – please put “yearbook” in the subject line so I don’t delete you) or you can write it yourself and send it to me through the mail. If you need my physical address, email me and I will send it to you. If you get a response from me, I received your note, if not, I did not get it. Also if you know someone who used to pray and read the blog but only checks here and there now, could you please speak to them about this post and get them to send a note as well. Thank you!
