Yes, we actually got more snow! When K got up and saw the snow she wanted to go play in it, but Em was still in bed so we dressed her in whatever we could find...my gloves, Em's hat, at least it's her jacket and boots. :)
Then we came inside and when I got done making breakfast, I saw this. They are so cute together. Sammy literally lets her do anything to him, as you can see. I started letting K give Sammy treats in the hopes that he will learn to listen to her a little better and now he thinks she is the queen of the world.
By the time Em got up, the snow had melted, but then, as if it knew she was awake, it started up again...seemed like it was just for her. So we went back out. God is good.
When she realized I wasn't coming out to hold her hand and K had moved away...
This just cracks me up because it looks like they are doing something so devious - Em looking back over her shoulder to see if I am looking and all. It's not far away...they have started trying, they just aren't any good at it yet. :)
What really happened was that we got a TON of hail. So much hail that it was piling up like snow. And this kept up on and off all day long.
So I showed the girls how to catch hail in a pan and then bring it inside to play with it.
The bonus? On days like this? No guilt TV and, if you're lucky, some cuddle time.
Our sheets were in the washer so K made the bed up for her and Em. Then she got a book and 'read' to her...
...and playing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" with Em's teacher.
When M got his first day off, we went up to the park...it is a little higher in altitude so although it was melting fast, they still had snow on the ground.
Look at that, K is in all 3T clothes! Such a big, giant girl!
Sorry my lighting is crazy in these pics...it kept changing from shade to sunlight to cloudy and I kept forgetting to switch out my settings. Oh well. For those who notice, sorry, for the rest of us, fun in the snow. :)
M tried to get them to help him build a snowman, but although the girls LOVE tromping through the snow, touching it is not so high on their fun list. Yes, I tried gloves. They wouldn't keep those on because the snow was sticking to them. SO finicky are my kids!
The snow was too wet to do anything justice and the lack of interest by the girls left our snowman looking more like a snow tower.
The old school house by the park.
This was my last photo as I took the camera back to the car. Dad is showing the girls how to make 'good snowballs'. This turned into a long snowball "fight", which in our family is K running right up to Dad and not actually wanting to hit him so throwing the snowball away, Em eating the snowball and M and I leaving them out of it while we pelt each other. We then took a long hike through the snow until finally the littlest munchkin got cold and so we headed out under grave protests from the oldest munchkin...who, by the way, protested the entire way up there that she just wanted to go home.
Just a cute pic...check out Em..."Hang on, is my sister touching my arm? Let me decide if I like that..."
We have done a lot of play doh with the weather too.
Today was warm and nice so we pretended to go camping (put up the tent in the back yard) and introduced the girls to smores. Notice the inspection. Neither girl liked the sticky texture of the marshmallows...even though they were princess pink. They tore them apart, ate the chocolate and left the rest for us. The best part of this though was that K couldn't keep the word 'marshmallow' straight from the word 'mushroom'. So she kept asking me about the pink mushrooms and when we were going to eat them. After she tasted the smore, she said, "These are the best mushrooms I never had!"
Well, I hope this post finds you better than the last and may God, who can do more than you can ask or imagine, bless you richly!
