I have a call to arms! We have a lot going on and I will shamelessly ask for prayers right now! First, and hardest to deal with, we have a virus on the ranch and so far two horses have picked it up. While we wait to see how many get it or not, the current boarders cannot leave as their horses are contagious, so in a few weeks we will see the ramifications of the fear of it. We are walking carefully through it and are trying to leave the business in God's hands.
Secondly, Micah has been called out to the fires and we do not know when or where of if he will have any days off for the time being.
Thirdly, we will be moving my parents in to the downstairs this weekend. We need to rent or sell their house as well as move them.
Lastly, though I doubt this is everything, K is having nightmares and both girls are having trouble falling asleep at night. I believe K's underlying fear is that of starting school next week. She is a thinker and has expressed concern over making friends and being made fun of. Em is just tired as we have had many late nights as of these events and she has loads of trouble when she is over tired.
As for me, I would like to tell you that I am just fine, handing it all over to God, but as with all things like this, it is a moment by moment decision to trust God. I keep making it as often as I realize that I have taken it all back and am trying to figure it out all on my own. My body says that I am stressed. My mind is focused on God. He has been faithful in the past and He will be faithful in the future...which means He is faithful right now. Please pray for the situations to resolve themselves but also that we will remain standing on the Solid Rock throughout the entire storm. Thank you!!
On another note, before our friends left, we took some school pics.
Yep, fires. The sun has been red for quite a while. As a matter of fact, today is the first day I have seen the mountains and the sun looks yellow.
The girls are back to their regular antics...so creative and willing to play. The first two days of the realization we had a virus on the ranch, I spent nearly every moment down at the barn, talking to people and the vet and trying to calm the panic. The girls were so good! We had our church praying for us and I realized that one of the miracles God answered in that time was that the girls were SO good. They were so busy playing that they never paused to even ask to swim or even to watch a movie. I even had to ask them if they wanted food.
God is good. We will follow Him wherever He wants us to go. Sometimes I don't like the path He takes. This would be one of those times. But I have seen enough of my God that I know that during these times in particular, it is always best to follow close behind as He has a way of revealing Himself loud and clear as we walk hand in hand with Him through the storm. I don't want to miss it. The reward will be worth it.
God Bless!!
