MRI on it's Way

Just because they are adorable! :-)

Well, Emily has her brain MRI this Friday. Our consultation with the anesthesiologist is tomorrow, Wednesday. Please pray for every aspect of this. We need to know what to ask and how to voice our concerns appropriately. Our main concern has always been her negative reactions to sedatives in the NICU, where she had trouble waking back up. She is much bigger now and much healthier but it is always a concern and much more so when a child has already shown a negative reaction to the medication typically used.

Also, I have been asked several times why we are doing the MRI now (after putting it off for almost two years now) and the short of it is that the results should end the argument between the neurologist and opthamologist over the cause of her eye movements (in particular that her eyes do not always track together). If there is brain damage, we will likely not pursue any eye surgery to fix her eyes, as they are not the source of the problem. If there is not any brain damage, then most likely the eyes themselves are the source of the problem and we can look into surgery to possibly fix them. Again, none of this is a guarantee but the hope is that it will give us a clearer picture of what is going on and the best direction to take to best help Emily. And I guess that is our biggest prayer request: that it will not be wasted time, energy, strength and risk...that the results will speak volumes and we will have a clear path on which to head.

Thank you for your support! God Bless!
