"I AM TWO"

Well, our biggest little girl has finally made it to the fabled two year mark! And boy are we there! In perfect fashion, she got up this morning and told me "nee meh-i-sin" (she needed medicine). This was new, so I asked her why she needed medicine. In proper form, without listening at all, she promptly cried and screamed as if I just told her the worst news in the world.  This carried on until her time out was over.

Finally calm, I again asked her why she wanted medicine and got her to "use her big girl words". She looked me straight in the eyes and said "Owie", opened her mouth wide, pointed into her mouth and even let me take a look. Two year molars on the button? Really? I gave her medicine but I just don't understand why she can't just do that the first time I ask!!  Naturally, she was a pill for us all day...oh, but a super cute pill!!  :)

For us, the 'terrible twos' started just before Christmas, which was horrible timing since we were headed to visit both sides of the family and instead of having a plan for discipline, we were caught in shock at the type of behavior our sweet little girl was displaying. Now we are home and the battle has begun. Sadly for her, she has two parents who are both significantly more stubborn than she will ever be.

This morning, I caught her saying "I kean" (I clean) and when I looked, I realized she was wiping the ottoman with a diaper and thought it was too cute to pass up for a photo.

When I asked her Father to describe her, here is what he said, "When she is NOT in her terrible two's, she has a gentle spirit, a quick smile, a tender heart and an intuitive mind."

Hugging the 'W'.

Her cheesy smile...

From my point of view, our little girl is a total sweet-heart with a very sweet personality. She is bright and already knows all her capital letters and some of her numbers. She likes to color and loves stickers. She likes to help me clean, do laundry, and cook.  She climbs on everything but also has a very intense sense of caution so I can trust her to climb carefully and still ask for help when she gets scared. She has great balance and is tiny for her age, so I want to get her into gymnastics as soon as possible.

She is also obsessive and 'tactile-phobic' (I know this cause her sister was supposed to be tactile-phobic, clearly is not, but it sure explains a LOT about K). Ironically, all the physical and occupational therapists that come over for Em always seem more interested in K.  :) She is obsessed with the letter 'W', so don't be surprised if you see it appear on her birthday cake this weekend. She loves the TV show 'Super Why' and gives the BEST hugs in the whole world!!!

Here's to our little girl.  The sweetest sweet-heart in the whole world!

From My Mom

So I think this will be the last installment for the vacation...these pics are from my Mom's camera. The first few are at the greatest park possibly in the world.

I can't thank my Mom enough...every night while we were there, she took the monitor and let M and I sleep while she took care of the girls, including getting up with them in the morning! I feel like a new, well-rested person...for now! :) Thanks Mom!!

K loves to climb and she is actually really good at these...all I do is make sure her feet don't slide off and point out hand holds and she does the rest. Such a big girl!

Taking a break.

Getting Em to sit still for more than thirty seconds is one feat...to read a book to her is entirely another!

More of Christmas with my uncle.

My aunt and great grandma.

K playing dolls...I think she forgot which one goes in the crib.

Watching her new choo choo.

My youngest sweetheart and I.  She is still eating well and we are still patching her eye.  She is still not walking but is a speed demon on her knees.

It was a great vacation but now we are back. No drs appts yet as we are still on 'vacation', but next week we already have seven lined up and her primary dr doesn't know we are back yet. :)

Also, in classic M and B fashion, when we got back, we found M's debit card (for winning fantasy football) in the mail, so we decided it was time to paint our master bedroom. So we didn't even finish unpacking, emptied our room and got started. We have paint and curtains up already and moved one of our leather chairs in, but still have a little ways to go. We have decided it is time to actually move in to our house...imagine that!

Thanks for your prayers and God Bless!!

Random Vacation Pics

These are completely random pics and completely out of order but since my kids are not letting me sit on the computer (do they ever?), I am just going to post and explain...

This pink hat was a Birthday present for K and she thinks it is just fabulous to wear all the time!

This is my parent's dog and yes, he is very patient and K loves him since he is "so soft!!".

"Christmas morning" we had a roaring flame and Em couldn't keep her eye off it.

Drinking water...yep, and still only water.

K had to watch "Super Why" on the computer since we were playing Wii...she didn't seem to mind one little bit! I love streaming Netflix!

Playing piano with Nana.

K's present was some pans to use in her kitchen.

Resting on Nana after a long battle with poo.

Em likes to help with the laundry.

K always has to play games when we do, so she has her own set up...

Em likes the pans too, but for different reasons, mainly the banging and chewing kind.

My aunt (Dad's sister) and uncle also came up for Christmas.

I almost forgot...Em has THREE teeth now!! She cut two more while we were there and discovered the wonderful power of ice.

They 'share' everything so why not the pink hat too?  By the way, this is my Grandma and this was the first time she got to meet Emily in person so it was great to watch them interact!

Nice glasses from Nana's collection of toys.

She always has to put my "Soopy pants" on and with the pink hat, I couldn't resist a photo...even if she won't look at me when the camera comes out.

We tried for another family photo...I mean why not when you have extra hands?

K helped Nana make her Birthday cake...

...which turned into taste-testing...

Okay, don't worry or live in fear, either way, I have more but they will have to come later as right now apparently my most important task in life is to blow up and yellow balloon. Until later!
