March of Dimes

We had a March of Dimes walk today...since Em is allowed outside now, a couple of friends and Grandma and the girls and I went to check it out. March of Dimes is a non-profit organization involved in just about everything pregnancy and baby related...including preemies.

We got up at 5am to get there by the time they said and then the walk actually started an hour and a half later. This after I promised Grandma for sure she would make it back in time for the baby shower.

So what do you do when waiting? Take pictures of course. This is A. She wasn't a preemie but was born with an infection and spent a week in the NICU so her parents have a soft spot in their heart for these babies. What a cutie! She is one now.

If you are K and waiting around, the only thing to do is find the food mom brought and consume it all.

If you are Em, you take out your paci and start chewing on your thumb...a favorite past time these days. If she wasn't so young, I'd be convinced she is teething. She is cranky and chewing on everything near her face.

Give a silly smile or two...

And then finally walk your six miles. It was a beautiful walk, I won't lie about that.

Grandma and Em after the walk. Good thing she was there! K had a much better time and I don't have a double stroller yet so I needed the help. :)

15 months/ 8 weeks

Well, my mom left yesterday...such a sad day! She has been here since a few days before Emily came home and has been a HUGE help! She was the reason I was able to still get out and come to things even though Em was home. Can't wait to hole up in my house waiting for M to not be working. I can't even write that without being sad...it will be summer soon! Anyway, my mom took the early morning feed so I could get a little more sleep and she even took over night time cares for K and got her sleeping through the night! So I just wanted to say thanks to her for all her work and compassion...I know a little girl who is going to miss her terribly! Oh and thanks to my Dad for letting her come for that long!

So Emily is eight weeks old...adjusted. She is eight pounds three ounces and just shy of 20 inches long. She isn't on the charts yet but if we do an adjusted chart, she is in the whopping 3%!! Gotta love it!

My mom found this lamb and decided it reminded her of Em so we are going to use it for a size comparison like K's monkey.

Yes, that is K on me...not running around like an ADHD kid on steroids...she is 15 months old and got her shots and she was miserable! BUT we enjoyed it as we got to hold and cuddle her for a day. She is now outside lounging in her new swing and watching dad mow the lawn...this age is awesome! (Minus the tantrums :)).

She keeps asking to hold Emily so to distract her from stabbing her head, we play the 'body parts' game.

Where is her nose?

Where is her mouth?

Where is her hand?

Have a great day! March of Dimes walk this Saturday (tomorrow) if anyone wants to come...early in the morning but don't have to do anything but show up and walk...give me a call if you want to go/hitch a ride.

K Rocking Em

I think this is cute...particularly at the end when K is so careful to step over Em's cords...she is so good with her.

Life Around Here

This was my first weekend without M...thank goodness I still have my mom helping me out!! I can't believe I will be on my own in a few days. The drs appointments start tomorrow and don't stop any time soon as far as I can tell. But before life really hits me, here are a few more pics of life.

K LOVES her pool!!

Tummy time with Dad

A friend of my Mom's sent us the pool and two towels with the girl's names on them...so cute...we tried to get pics...K won't sit still long enough. :)

Kisses...

We are trying to hold Em as much as possible so she attaches to us and learns to love and be loved. She spent a long time alone so unlike a normal baby that you have to teach to be alone, we have to do the opposite. Why not check your email while you do it?
