K Starts Soccer

K started her first soccer season. She is just in U-6 (her birthday placed her), but it is super cute. This was her first practice. They are only half an hour so not enough time to go anywhere but enough time to play with the settings on my camera.

Before you wonder why she has no socks, I didn't buy socks because I didn't want to buy a pair just to have to buy another pair to get the right color for her team.

It is spring.  I love spring more than any season in the world.  I love green.  I love new life.  I love the fact that it's not blistering hot and not freezing cold.  I love the fact that the weather changes and keeps me on my toes.  I love having grass everywhere, not just where we water it. Spring is good for the soul.  And it always follows winter, the hardest season of all.  I think that's part of what God meant when He said that joy comes in the morning.  After the hard times, after the dark of the night, there is new life - and there is so much joy in new life.  There is hope.  Sometimes all we need is a little hope.

Anyway, Em and I sat in the grass - Em spent the half hour feeding Olaf.

K has surprisingly good form and, well, the tongue is back!

This was blurry but it showed the tongue so well that I had to include it. He he, that tongue makes me laugh.

She was given her uniform at practice - and now you see my wisdom! No socks needed.  So she dressed up the next day because we HAD to practice.

She was also given a butterfly by her Sunday School teacher.  I was surprised she wasn't freaked out but then again, she is surprising me more and more lately.

Did I mention the changing weather? We got a massive thunderstorm that even included hail two days ago.  Yesterday it was so cold we built a fire in the fire place and today it was 88 degrees.

I was making a sign for the barn and K felt we should warn everyone about our cat, so she made this sign and asked me to hang it at the gate.  I put it in the barn, hoping people will get a kick out of it. (Sneaky cat on duty! Her name is Snowy. She blends in to the gravel.  White cat.)

Well, a Tom came onto our land today.  I am sure he has been here before since all the hens are here all the time, but I have never seen him before.  He was huge!

I just love these girls...we go adventuring and all too often I don't bring my camera.

I came up from the barn and this was set up.  They said they made a "We love our family" party.  And, they made sure to add extra food and said, "There are things you can eat too, Mom!"  So thoughtful. :-)

Well, we are in the midst of chaos, as usual, but still moving and still ticking.  Grateful for health and safety these days.  All I need now is enough time to actually clean my house!
