Old Friends

On our second day, we went to a giant birthday party for these three boys...not that they are all born at the same time of year, but they are from Oregon and so it was one big party at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

M and their Dad have been friends since high school.

We played a bunch of games...love the tongue!

And Em ate her glasses...she thought she was pretty cool getting away with that.

This is Em's new 'trick'.  She has finally started eating finger foods.  She loves it, she is just terrible at it.  Most of it goes in the mouth and comes right back out.  BUT, she's trying and that's all we can ask!

This young man went to high school with the girls' Poppy E...it's a small world!

Mommy and her baby.

The two babies ready for bed...yeah, he's taller and bigger and not even one yet...but let's get real, what baby isn't bigger and taller than em???  :)

Does anyone else have the kid who is at a party with a bunch of other kids to play with and she is perfectly content to be on her own doing a quiet activity like coloring?

Or take a nap on the stairs?

 Remember M's Aunt?

Well, this is one of her daughters...they were both preemies...and look how beautiful she is now!  Yeah, Em deliberately turned her head away from the camera.  :)

Playing peek-a-boo with the Twins fan...

The next day we went ahead and drove back up to spend more time with just our friends. Just some park pics...on our way first though...

There was a man with two beautiful dogs at the park, so we played with them...this was particularly nice as the day before the boys' dog got into some poison and had to be put down.

"Rockets"...this was one of the coolest toys I have seen...they jump on the bulb and the air pressure sends the rocket very high into the air.

K decided the dog should smell the flowers too....he was amazing as he just sat there while she held a flower on his nose.

Have a great day!  God Bless!

Vacation!

Well, we are back from vacation and since obviously I have taken a million and one pictures, I will need to space them out over the next few days. :) With that in mind, let's get started...

We decided to do a modified "stay-cation" and went to Nana and Poppy's place so we could take advantage of all the cool stuff around here without having to drive two hours each way every day. They live 'close' to everything.

SO, on our first day off, we met up with old friends and went to the Discovery Museum. The museum just happened to have an area with a Sesame Street theme right now...

Em was obsessed with Big Bird's eyes...what a beautiful thing to me. The baby who was supposed to be blind is staring at Big Bird's big white eyes. :)

K was super excited to meet Elmo...she kept asking to go back but the concept of turns is elusive to a two-year-old, much less the idea of waiting in lines.  As you can see, Em was not so happy to meet him.

More of Sesame Street...I LOVE the way he looks at his little girls.  You can see his love for them written all over his face and it warms this mama's heart.

I know this is a strange pic but it makes me laugh. Em was pretty scared being there with all the noise and lights but she was a trooper and would stand and walk around for a little while but most of the time, she had a death-grip on my pants while we watched from afar. So this was my point of view while we were in Sesame Street. Everything she does is so adorable to me, I just want to remember every moment, even the ones that don't make sense.

There was an area all about dinosaurs...

...and an area about rockets...

...watching bottle rockets...

Thankfully the rest of the museum was quieter so Em and Nana got to wander around together for quite a while.

Even the big boys got to play and K decided to clap for Daddy while he defended the goal.

We went back to Nana and Poppy's for naps and more time to hang out.

...a meeting of the minds...don't you wish you knew what they are sharing that keeps them there?

And the highlight...

Well, more coming later...have a great day! God Bless!!
