All the Rest

Well, before we left on vacation, K got a hold of our old stethoscope (from when Em came home from the hospital)...

...so when we got back from vacation, I decided it was time to get her her own set of drs equipment.

We also had a garage sale...and since we got help from friends, there were a couple cute pic opportunities.

Coloring...

Shopping together...

Pushing each other in the swing...

Playing one last time...

And since the weather is warming up, we also set up the pool and Em went for her first swim...she LOVED it!!

She did finally calm down when I climbed in with them and put her on my lap.  I kept putting her further into the water until she was comfortable on her own.  She didn't let me get out though, so we will have to work on that but I am sure we will be having fun shortly!

Well, updates are that we ordered Em's new glasses. Her eyes have gotten worse, she used to be -10.5 and -9.5 and now she is -12.0 and -11.0. In good news, the patching is working well and she is using her weak eye to focus now (before she was only using her strong eye for vision). It is still weak but we will carry on. We have been referred to a neurologist to take a look at her head bob (her head often bounces around like a bobble head doll). We aren't going to do any surgery for her misalignment yet because we need to take care of all the other issues first.

The rest of us thought we were sick and then found out from two different drs that yellow or green snot in the morning that goes clear later on is still just allergies. This is news to me but explains how K gets 'sick' all the time but Em never catches it. The good news to be taken from all this is that although  K has terrible allergies,  Em must, at least, have fewer allergies than K.  At least she's got one thing going her way!

Em's eating is going well but K is a nightmare. I hope you all have a great day! God Bless!!

J's Bday

We came home for our nephews third birthday. Happy Birthday Big Guy!!

Our other nephew...

It doesn't matter how old the kids are, glasses are always a topic of interest.

Uncle J and cousins.

I know this is blurry but it's the first time she's had fun in a bounce house so I had to include it.  :)

Have a great day and God Bless!!

Well, we also made it to the beach.  Now, K is in that selfish 'everything is mine' stage, so when we got there, she promptly informed us, "My beach, my ocean, my boat...". I had no idea we owned all that! :) She also couldn't get Nana to walk fast enough.

Quite the change from every other time we have been to the beach! She wanted to be there and actually enjoyed herself!

What no one tells you is that when you go to the beach in SoCal this time of year, you don't run around in a bikini. The wind was using all its might to blow a storm in so we played in the sand, dressed like you would to play in snow. :)

Nana taught K how to build a sand castle.

But all K wanted to do was water the castle...

So they reached a compromise...Nana filled the bucket with sand and K watered it and then they made more castle with it.

But in the end, even the castle had to be watered.

I tried a self-portrait with our giant camera, and this is what I got...

I know it's hard to imagine, but Em decided to eat the sand. She drives me crazy and makes me laugh all at the same time. She eats crayons and sand but not real food. Whatever!!  I realize she looks ridiculous, but she is in sister's clothes cause we are out of warm clothes in her size and I am too cheap to buy any knowing that summer is supposed to be here already.

We also took the girls down by the water...

Where K met another wave, only this time the result was a big smile instead of tears. I love it when you try something over and over and it fails but since you are stubborn you keep trying and then finally one day it totally works out!!

Nana spent a lot of time teaching K about the waves.  It was so cute watching them stand there talking!!

And finally since we were the only ones there, we decided it was our duty to chase the birds off the beach.

Have a great day! God Bless!!

Aquarium

One of the days we were on vacation, the girls got to spend the day with my Aunt Lynn (thanks!) and they loved that but the next day, we went to the aquarium. I was pleasantly surprised how much they both LOVED it!!

Outside, Em just kept splashing in the water and then looking up at Dad with a giant grin to make sure he was having just as much fun as she was. It was adorable!!  Look at that tongue!

K decided that playing boat captain was super fun...

...and Em liked the lobster.

But mostly she just wants the freedom to wander around like a drunken sailor. Ok, really she is getting much better at walking, it is just taking a very long time and she is falling a LOT!! Look at that determined look though. :)

K thought spraying the shark was really fun, but...

...when the real shark came by the window, she jumped!

Playing in the 'tide pool' with Dad.

There was also an aviary there and K thought it was great but Em was pretty scared. K kept walking up to the birds in a crouch, waving her hand to say, "Hi!". She kept telling me, "bird talking". And I told her that's because she was being so polite. :) Whatever it takes!!

Have a great day! God Bless!!
