Well, the last leg of our journey took us through the redwoods of northern California. Our first night camping we got so cold that the girls ended up in our bags with us. Since that meant we did not sleep, we decided it was time to teach the girls how to "mummy-up". We stuffed them, their pillows and blankets into their bags and cinched them down. They loved it! They were so cute, I loved looking at them too!
Trying to make trees interesting, we spent our time looking for Big Foot. It was so much fun to pretend with the girls, they are so imaginative and creative!
When a fire burned this tree, it took out the core but left the rest standing...making it a cool cave.
Paul Bunyan and Babe welcomed us to the Trees of Mystery. Paul lost an arm this winter when a limb took him out.
And we finally found Big Foot.
The tram was down so tickets were half price and we decided to go.
This is cathedral tree where multiple couples get married every year.
Oh, and they happily hiked with the potential of finding Big Foot in these woods. This was Big Foot's chair.
K called this Goliath...he is huge and he only has a head!
On our way down, the tram started working again and when we got down, they said if we were willing to hike all the way back up, we could ride for free. I couldn't believe the girls agreed, but we had just bought Babe the Blue Ox and he wanted to ride, so up we hiked.
And up Babe went.
There are three drive through trees in the world, so we
had to go.
M was not comfortable driving through this...too tight of a squeeze. :-)
Well, that was our little trip in a nutshell. I hope you enjoyed it as we did. Being back home has been nice - and warm. Nana and Poppy E are here and we have more family coming this week, so it looks like a fun set of weeks!
