Well, it is experiment time at our house...first we decided to try camping in our own backyard before heading out and being miles from home...not knowing if we would need our beds by midnight. :)
Em sitting on her sleeping bag while we set up.
And K on her sleeping bag...
K testing out her bed.
Playing before bed...the other bonus to being at home is a walled in play area to wear the kids out before bed. :)
Em thought this was a very fun game...at first. She had a hard time falling asleep but K went out like a light so we just kept telling Emmy this wasn't a game and she needed to go 'night-night'. Eventually she went out and, believe it or not, we all got a lot of sleep! It was a great success and went much better than we had anticipated. I think we will be doing more camping in the future...yipee!
Good Morning!!
We have also started to try making all our own food. Since K's allergy test revealed the same almond, peanut and egg allergies as before, as well as a new soy allergy, we can't even buy bread anymore. There is soy (or at least soy oil) in everything!! Since one of K's favorite things to do is help me cook, we have spent a lot of time in the kitchen lately.
Sharing the batter after we made 'cookies'. It's in quotes because with nothing good in them, they tasted nasty! K wouldn't even eat them once they were cooked. I gave them to my friend who is allergic to all food and she liked them so at least they didn't get wasted. :)
While we cook, Em does what? Eat. Always eating. Always making a mess!!!
We also took a trip to a lake around here just to see if it could be a new place to go on days off. It was very nice and since it was a week day, we had the entire place to ourselves.
Walking down the 'beach' to the water. The sand isn't the best since it is full of shells, but K thought it was fun to throw them in the water.
Teaching Em to swim...
She loved it, drool and all.
Teaching K to swim...
I know this is super dark but I still love it.
K got cold and then decided she wanted to show us how she could suck her thumb like em...whatever!
Em is in the stage where she has very serious, very long conversations with you and not one intelligible word is spoken. It is hilarious and cracks us up!
Well, that's enough experimenting for one week. For those praying, we are having a hard time with this new 'diet' and we need get a system worked out that doesn't involve mom in the kitchen all day long. Otherwise, we are enjoying life and the fact that it is calm right now. :) God Bless and have a wonderful day!
