Heading North

Well, tomorrow we are headed north to my parent's place for a quick road trip with our friends. It's the ladies and the kids for a week of hiking and swimming in lakes. Should be hard and fun! :-) So, I am clearing out the pics and hoping to feel completely caught up on life before I leave. I can't decide which of these three is my favorite pic, so I put them all in.

This was the view out my window one of the nights when the last fire was burning.  I am pleased to announce we are currently fire free and the stiff wind we have had the privilege of having for the past two days has even cleared out the air so the sky is once again blue.  Yipee!!

Sunrise, I think on morning three.  These fires were so close together that K and Em got tired of all the helicopters flying so low overhead and started yelling at them.  It was not uncommon to hear from the backyard, "Stinking hose-copters!  Ah!  Fly somewhere else!"

Oh and yesterday when I was cuddling with the girls, I asked them why they thought God was so good to give me two sweet little girls.  I was promptly informed by K, "Cause God loves girls better than boys!"

As it turns out, there is nothing wrong with my peas...they are simply at the end of their lives...and good lives they were!  I guess as peas end their season, they keep producing peas at the top of the plant and slowly turn yellow from the bottom up until there are no more pods.  I also found out they do not grow well in anything over seventy degrees.  Since we have been over seventy for as long as I can remember, I'm gonna go with - nothing is impossible! - including growing peas in the desert.

Just documenting the size of most of our peas - not huge but not tiny either...we had a good crop and now I can see the cucmbers and squash, carrots and tomatoes ripening.  Having a garden is quite fun!

This was my fifteen dollar hammock I bought so I could swing with the girls.  Why do they steal everything?  I guess these two decided to take a nap while they waited for everyone else to arrive for the BBQ.

Well, on the Emily front, I have decided it is time to start praying for the healing of her right eye.  She is using it less and less and, well, I believe God wants to heal her of it now.  SO, I am going to start praying for it - every day.  If you would like to join me, please do!  I am not the person who is concerned over whether God decides to heal it with a miracle (you know we have had a lot of those!) or if He is just going to change the mind of her doctor and he will decide it is time to do surgery or if the patch is suddenly going to start helping her...but I do know that regardless of what God decides to do or what route He decides to take, HE will do it because He is God and He is in charge.  Starting today, I am going to ask Him every day for healing.  Join me if you would like, it's fun to be a part of this!

God Bless!!
