Apparently I have decided you all need a reminder of the millions of characters who are all Disney. No, I'm kidding. The pictures that scroll across our TV while we play music on the radio come from the blog, so you see that it is, in fact, necessary to forget no one lest I be reminded by two little girls. :-)
So the day we chose to go to the 'happiest place on earth', there was also a marathon running around the grounds and streets surrounding the place. So we and thousands of others drove around for almost an hour to be shuttled into one single parking lot. It started off well, taking us over an hour just to get into the park. Thankfully, since everyone else was stuck too, we were still able to hit a couple rides before the lines got too long.
It's a small world...
Merida from Brave was our first princess.
Since quite literally the only thing Kylie cared about was getting to see Elsa and Ana from Frozen, Dad went and got in the line before 11am...they opened at 11am. The girls and I then took off to Toon Town, where all the cartoon characters have houses and generally hang out. This is the girls taking a nap in Minnie's bed.
I love Em's face on this one.
When we walked by the wishing well, it began to sing. Em could not figure out what was going on and needed a closer look. We went through the castle wall at least three times because there isn't a line to that and all it does is tell the story of Sleeping Beauty. We went through it the first time and I didn't read all the story but did my 'G-version' of it and even didn't let them look into some of the windows. So when we got out Kylie's comment to me was, "See, Mom? I wasn't scared at all! I could see that movie and not be scared!" (I have never let them see Sleeping Beauty or Snow White or Tiana's movie or Ariel or Alladin or well, nearly all of them now that I think about it). It's funny, they love these princesses because of books and the little movies they make after the movie comes out and outfits. Come to think of it, I am no longer sure why they are so in love, but I do know that Disney is a genius!
Two hours and twenty minutes after Dad got in line, he called us to come meet Elsa and Anna. Thankfully, the girls got to talk to them for quite a while. This made Dad feel a little better about his pergatory, though he wasn't twiddling his thumbs since his phone's battery was suddenly at 20% when we returned. It may be the only time in my life I have been thankful for Clash of the Clans since he volunteered to stand in that line.
The girls and I had been waiting in the line to Pixie Hollow for 45min when Dad called us to come see Elsa. I was so sad, but thankfully we had made friends with the ladies next to us. One was a mother of four. She offered to save our spot if we made it back. So, after Frozen, we raced back and made it just in time.
Kylie's excitement when she realized she was going to get to see Silvermist, her favorite fairie. We were going to have a Silvermist birthday party until the Frozen movie came out...
I didn't see this until later...nice hand placement Em!!
Oh the many princesses...and I didn't even include them all. Aurora.
Emily was so cute. Ariel is her favorite right now and when she came around the corner and saw that it was Ariel, she threw her arms up in the air in excitement and ran right through the ropes to give her a hug. It was her one and only moment of pure unabashed joy. She even surprised Ariel.
Just because it isn't a princess and because Em's hand is in its eyeball and it doesn't seem to mind at all.
Their favorite Netflix movie right now. Yes, it is the old cartoon we all used to watch as kids.
We tried to get into ESPN zone for dinner and catch a little of the football games at the same time...many, many other people had the same idea and with a line as long as the ones for rides, we buzzed over to the Rainforest Cafe next door. The girls loved it. Kylie has never abandoned her first love, Curious George, nor her love of all animals. She actually asks to watch documentaries on animals, then later recites all the facts to me. One of her favorite books on CD is all about gorillas, so she spent the meal being a silverback.
What a silverback looks like when you put a frog hat on her.
Well, the girls' favorite ride was the Buzz Lightyear one where you help Buzz by shooting all the bad guys. Even with Em spinning M's seat in circles, M was able to more than double my score. It's like he practices or something. :-) Their favorite overall experience was meeting Elsa and Anna. They had a blast!
Mom and Dad, well, we are glad we don't ever have to do that again. (We actually agreed that if we are down here long term and they really want to go again in a year or two, we would rather pay for their aunt's ticket and let them go 'on us' and we will go for a hike while they are gone). Thankfully we hit our 'walls' at different times throughout the day and were able to push each other through. Nothing is further from our comfort zone than that experience. I am pretty sure we were still stressed out the next morning since I ran and lifted in the same morning (I never do that anymore) and M went online looking at new cars.
Wow, well, that's not the half of it, but it is the end of it. :-) The girls were happy as clams and that is what we will rest on. I am grateful that Disney does some community involvement tickets or my girls would not have seen this. I am also grateful it is over. :-) God Bless!!

Happy 5th Birthday My Big Girl!!
My biggest baby girl turned FIVE today!!! We are so excited! She is turning into quite the little artist, but more on that later. :-) It just so happened that we had gotten tickets to Disneyland through the Braille Institute and the dates of issuance landed this week. So we decided to brave the Sunday crowds in order to go on Kylie's real birthday. Her party isn't until next week. It was chaos but that is for another discussion. This day started earlier than usual with a special breakfast (yep, she chose cinnamon rolls and bacon) and the opening of the couple of gifts that arrived already.
And then it was off to Disneyland. I am not sorting those pics tonight so I will give you a teaser of the main event. Elsa and Ana from Frozen.
Exhausted, I expound on nothing. Just wanted to let you know and I will get to the rest of it later! God bless!
