McCloud River

Well, we have had our first incidence with hair and scissors...rather than ask for help, Em decided that since her pony tail was too tight to pull out, she ought to try to cut it out. This had better be the last time I see hair in those hands!

Speaking of Em, we are on the verge of yet another pair of new glasses. Her eyes are doing much better but still not working together well. We are going to have to patch 5-6 hours every day and get bifocals again. They did not work last time but now that her eyes are aligned, we are going to go with a more round frame and a newer, clearer material for the lenses and see if we can't get her eyes to work together at least when things are close to her face. The irony is that in tiny little Redding, there is an optic place that actually makes her lenses...what I used to drive an hour to order, wait several weeks for processing and drive an hour to get, is now ten minutes down the road and should be done in less than a week! Awesome!

We managed to sneak away for a hike this week.  It was cold but beautiful!

Em was having a 'my sister is being bossy so I'm gonna get frustrated and stubbornly refuse to do anything' day.  So she kept standing on the side of trail, hands on hips, staring off into the woods.  It made me laugh, which made her laugh and she eventually got over it.

We made it to the second waterfall...

This is how confused our weather is...ice crystals on the path, plants with leaves and flowers budding.  We have been so warm that everything has started to bloom.  Hope it doesn't backfire.  Pray for more rain though, we need it!

Waterfall number three...

K taking a 'selfie'.  Nana gave her an old camera and K has been taking it everywhere and taking pics of everything.  So strange!  :-)

We stopped half way through for lunch.

On the way back, it was clear we were closer to Mt Shasta then our backyard.

This was a nice, easy four mile hike with loads of reward...the best kind for little kids!

We stopped to get the girls a treat at our favorite small town candy shop on our way back.

Then it was burgers at Tate's new house.

Em is excited that Sammy will now lay down with her too - not just K.

Well, we have been getting a lot done in the past week with M off work and we are actually looking forward to getting back into our 'routine' - well, as close to one as we can get.  I get to share Emily's story this Sunday at church so please pray that goes well.  Also, K has been breaking out a lot lately and we are trying to get her into the dermatologist to take a look at her rashes so pray we get in soon.  God Bless!!
