Gone Again

Well we spent a couple days at home...long enough to visit a few friends and go see the new baby born the morning we got back (the other little blondie's new sister). Anyway, now we are up at Port Hueneme. My brother will deploy again in February and then move to Hawaii next summer. It will be tough to go visit them but we will make the sacrifice. :)

Anyway, cuddling with Uncle Ben in the wee hours of the morning.

Riding on the back of Dad's bike...

Our first go at bowling...she is posing to show off her new shoes.

They don't have shoes small enough for Em so she is showing you her ball...which she was very excited about.

At first, Em was scared because of all the noise.  She kept plugging her ears and begging to be held.

In the end she was very excited for each of her turns but demanded to be held for all of the time in between them.

K loved it from beginning to end.

She told me later, "Mommy, sometime when I am bigger like you, I can knock all the things down."  I did tell you that the other day she said, "Someday I'm gonna have a big bum just like you!" right?  She is all about being big these days...and I'm the big one.

We have spent most of our time doing the same fun stuff...jumping on the trampoline...

...reading new books...

Building with legos...

Celebrating a birthday...N is now 5!  We didn't actually do much, just cookies and a present, but really, that's all kids really want!

Going to parks...this is what Em looks like quite a bit these days.  Most of her fears come from loud sounds and now she has figured out that if she plugs her ears they just aren't as loud.

Going to the beach...

I promise this was not my idea...Mom actually asked for this present.  I think it is staying in the garage for the sanity of all.

Mommy breaking it down.

Swimming in the pool...they have a new kid pool on base.

Em decided it was time to learn to jump into the pool...and she did it...honestly, she is entirely too brave for me (and I am the one always trying to push them to be more brave).  Water is the exception in Em's case!

When the big kids play rough, Em hangs on tight.

My fav!

Warming up in the sun.

This was while we were home...playing "where Em can't ruin the cake".  (They are on top of the playhouse).

The amazing cake they were trying to protect.  It's an American flag.

We asked K if she wanted to pack her own clothes this time and she was thrilled!  Mom had to throw in some tights just to get something besides skirts and dresses but at least we won't have conflict over clothes!

Painting pine cones with Em's teacher.

It turns out this is a holiday weekend so M and my brother actually get to spend time together too!  Usually one of the two of them is working since their schedules are opposite...as M's schedule is with virtually everyone we know.  We even got a sitter on Saturday night and went out on a double date!  Hope your day is great!  God Bless!!
