Glass was one of the first enterprises undertaken in 1608 at Jamestown.

A kiln.

I love watching glass being made.

We made a purchase for the travel collection.

This monument was erected in 1907 to commemorate the 300 year anniversary of Jamestown.

The second church that burned down and then was rebuilt in the early 20th century as part of a restoration process. The graveyard has people that died in the early 1600's.

The walls left something to be desired.

The first church.

Yorktown, VA

We visited on a cold, foggy day. This town was the British, and won a decisive victory, in large part due to the French who provided 25 seige cannons that pummeled the British redoubts (dirt walls).

The grey cannon on the left, is an example of the French cannon that won the battle.

These spiked redoubts made it difficult to storm.

When you made it over the redoubt, you were faced with these cannons.

We bundled K up and put her in the baby Bjorn, under M's jacket, to keep warm.

Where the Redcoats signed the surrender treaty with George Washington.
