After the Lake Tahoe reunion, the girls and I headed north with my sister and parents to spend a little more time together in Redding. So what does that mean?
Making pasties...pie sandwiches.
Reading lots of books...
Swinging on swings...
Hanging out and recovering from the Tahoe trip...
Lots of hiking...
Buying new trinkets...showing you her copper bought at the old store in the ruins next to our house.
Then we got a visit from some people many of you will know. The Thompsons were almost all in town and we had a lovely evening visiting.
This guy, J, was one of my classmates and good friend at our boarding school in Africa.
His beautiful wife.
R was my sister's "Big Sister" at ICA. The "Big Sister" program was developed to get high school students together with elementary students to offer the mentoring necessary when parents aren't around. She had a huge impact on my sister's life and this was a sweet reunion.
The whole crew...well, yes, missing the youngest family member but so many nonetheless. It was a great visit! One of the things I love about Redding is that so many missionaries and therefore friends pass through all the time.
There are four fruit trees right outside the back door of the house up there, so we were eating plums like crazy to try to keep up. This is B and her makeshift pail collecting ripe fruit.
I LOVE just picking fruit and eating it!!
Don't forget visits with GiGi...
We cannot forget that the land up there is covered in lakes, so swimming is a must.
I know this is blurry but it actually looks like Em was catching on to the swim lessons I was giving her so I had to throw it in!!
This shot just struck me as we sat there warming up. This water, by the way, is significantly warmer than Tahoe!
One of the hikes we went on was to a waterfall M and I used to hike to in order to cool off.
We hiked down to the bottom and there may or may not have been some naked babies as they couldn't resist swimming in the perfectly clear water, no matter how cold.
I feel like that was a drive-by picturing so I am sorry! Hope you kept up! God Bless!!
