Tutu Photo Shoot

At the suggestion of someone I love, I put the girls in the tutus from the recital and took some pics. As you can see there are two different settings I used but no one can agree which is cuter. Personally, I am realistic and so I like the white the best but I give you both. :-)

This is my actual favorite...

This is my "because it makes me laugh" favorite.

I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Em First Day of School

Emily started her new school last week. It was raining that day so our pictures were forced into the garage...

She did well, at least I thought she did. I had planned to stay the entire first day when the special ed teacher suggested I step out for a little while to see how she did without me there. So I did. Not for very long, but she noticed. When I picked her up nothing seemed off. Then I left her with a friend for an hour while I went to gymnastics. This was not unusual, but when I got home, she kept saying, "Mommy, you no weave me." Over and over again.

She then proceeded not to potty on the potty for the next three days...not once. I had just gotten her back to the potty when today rolled around for day two at school. This time I spent the entire time with her and did not move from my chair. She seemed all right but checked in with me several times.  Dad will take shift two tomorrow and Friday will be our first attempt at a full day alone.

We've made a lot of decisions for Emily and none of them have felt wrong until this one. It's a horrifying feeling. We are functioning right now under the assumption she just needs a little more time to adjust, and all we can do is hope we are right. We welcome any prayers! We would very much like to look back at her first day of school with fond memories and not the opposite!

God Bless!!

It's been raining for a while now but that hasn't stopped us from still getting out to play. What we learned on this trip was that animals at the zoo are awesome when it's cool! J has passes to the zoo and she got us all in for free so despite the rain, we piled into our car and made a day of it.

Some of the monkeys were super loud and Z decided this was the only way to watch.

The tigers were playing with each other...two brothers wrestling...some things remain the same across all species.

The girls were so funny.  They kept stopping at the maps to see where we were and where we were headed.  I thought they were just playing when I realized they knew what they were talking about!  :-)

How goofy does Em really look???  :-)

And that's the jaguar...

We had a great time and even though Em wasn't herself yet, she stuck with us through the whole day.  My new tip for all parents is that on any day where it isn't pouring buckets but is overcast, wet and cool, go to the zoo!!  All of the animals are perky, lively and will actually grab your child's attention rather than you trying to find the animals laying in the shade somewhere.

God Bless!!
