K-Girl Turns SEVEN!

When did it happen that we ended up with a seven year old? We are officially in little girl status now!  K has agreed to celebrate her birthday this summer, so we had a small family birthday for her once Nana and Poppy got back. Her request for dinner? Ramen and strawberries. Yep. I added chicken for an attempt at healthy but let's face it, there is just no way to dress up Ramen.  :-)

Sorry the pictures are smaller - they came off the phone so they blur if they get any bigger.  I can't seem to find my camera battery charger, so until I do, no super nice pics. Kind of sad since my baby is seven now.  I will likely go on a full search before she moves too far past her birthday. On the official height chart, for her seventh birthday, she is the same height Emily was on her sixth birthday.

Thanks to family, she still got several presents to open and had a wonderful evening.

We spent Monday down in Sacramento. The purpose of the trip was to get a brain map of Emily. Basically, this will just tell us how well her brain is functioning.  It is non-invasive, as you can see, and should help us to move forward with her education. We will get results sometime next week. She did so well sitting still that the two hour appointment only took an hour (and half an hour of that was mom talking to the doctor). It was adorable to watch her concentrate on relaxing.  He he.

After she was done, we went to the capitol building and took a tour.

Em had gel all over her hair from the test, thus the hat.

We then went out to eat at the Spaghetti Factory for K's birthday. It turned out to be a nice family day for all of us.

The OT finally showed up at school today to evaluate if Em needed an evaluation for services...gotta love bureaucracy!  Yes, you read that right. We waited three months to determine if we needed to see if she needs services. Anyway, she decided Em needs an evaluation, so we are finally moving on with all of the services we requested in her IEP last November. Craziness.  Between that and the brain map, hopefully I will be full of information soon. God Bless!!
