A 'Normal' Weekend?

How crazy is this? We just had a 'normal' weekend. Remember that our weekend consists of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so we usually fill it with drs appts. Every week since a month after Em came home, we have had four to five drs appts a week. All of the sudden, this week, we only had ONE!! I didn't say anything earlier because I didn't want to jinx it before it happened.

SO, we went in to Pasadena and visited with some friends from OR. It was a LOT of fun to just hang out and talk. They have three boys who are 5, 3, and 4 months. They were GREAT at playing with the girls and figured out real quick that Em would laugh if they got close enough to her face for her to see them.

Baking with water...I love imagination!

Yep, Em slept like this on Aunt Penny for well over an hour.  Recall we stayed with Penny and Chuck when we were up here to see the specialist and deal with all of Em's eye issues back in January.

Learning to swim.

Kids...always have to carry around things that are way too big for them!

No, she doesn't care that he is 500 times bigger than her.

It's weird to be around a four month old and realize just how right on the physical therapists are when they say Emily is developmentally a four month old.  They literally have the same set of skills...Em just does them all a little better and she carries more weight on her legs.

Remember when we brought her home how we had to work on stretching her back and shoulders out because she had lain on her back for so long that her muscles were tight across her back and she couldn't bring her hands together in front of her?  We now have the same issue with her hips and hamstrings.  When she tries to sit, she rocks back and rounds her back, making it impossible to balance well.  So now we are stretching her legs and hips, hoping to help her sit some day.

Cooking

Then today, we spent the afternoon in our own backyard, watching our girls and hanging out as a family.  What?  Yes, all together.  It felt so good!

Okay, low riders...this is how things fit when your kid is a 2T on top and a 12-18mo bottom...she has the cutest, tiny little bum!  She loves to stand in the pool and throw the ball to Sammy because she is in control...he can't just jump up and take it out of her hand.

These are the books Em got for free from the Braille Institute. Even though she is seeing well, we have no idea what kind of detail she is seeing, so she will still be followed by a consultant from the Institute until we know for sure that she will not need their services.
