Life Up Here

Well, people keep asking my how it's going up here and boy do I have a story for you! We have gotten slightly moved in to my parent's house. The girls are loving playing with the dogs and swimming in the cold hot tub. It has been blistering hot with highs in the 104 to 105 range every day.

This is how K has decided to throw the ball for the dog...that way she doesn't get her hands all slobbered up.

The real story though is our air conditioner...it burned up, yes, caught fire...six days after we moved in. Yes, it is about a foot from the house and no, there isn't even soot on the house.  Nor did the pile of wood on the other side catch a spark or anything.  As of yet, we do not know the cause.  The technician can't even get out here until this coming Thursday (and this happened this last Friday).

SO...we found our old window ac units from our apartment days and put them in the bedrooms the first night.  When it was 95 degrees inside the house the next day, my Dad found a huge window unit (that could cool off the main rooms of the house) on craig's list for $75 and we picked it up only to find out that the electricity had gone off in the entire town.  It was off for several hours and that made day two over 90 degrees inside the house.  We spent the second half of that day at a friends' house in their pool.

Dad and a friend installed the giant unit today and finally house is comfortable again.  Whew! Granted, we look awesome with a window unit in every room, each sealed off with duct tape and cardboard.  I am praying the technician decides it is repairable so it will be covered under warranty but I am not holding my breath.

The girls made a fairy terrarium with Nana.

We went to the birthday party of one of our friends...it was a gymnastics party.

This was the birthday boy.  He was so active I couldn't even get a photo of him!

When they got done, they each got a medal.

Well, we are still in escrow on the ranch and I am setting up more play dates with friends (who are finally coming back from vacations), testing out the new curriculum for school, and getting a little settled.  Oh, and reading about horses.  :-)  Boy, are they high maintenance creatures!  Hope your day is great!  God Bless!!
